Java Backend Developer (AWS):
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Java Backend Developer (AWS) for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Java Backend Developer (AWS) - Job Description:
The project involves Java Backend Development with a focus on AWS, aimed at building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems and cloud-native applications. This is a new development project requiring expertise in cloud-native solutions and microservices architecture.

Java Backend Developer (AWS) - Responsibilities:
• Design and develop Java backend applications and microservices
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and messaging systems like Kafka or MQ
• Develop cloud-native solutions on AWS (ECS, Lambda, ECR, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM)
• Implement logging, monitoring, performance optimization, and error handling
• Conduct code reviews and unit testing
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis
• Collaborate with stakeholders and support DevOps practices including CI/CD

Java Backend Developer (AWS) - Mandatory Skills:
• 8+ years Java backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in Java (core and Spring Boot)
• Reactive programming with Java Flux / Project Reactor
• RESTful API design and development
• Hands-on AWS experience (ECS, Lambda, ECR, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM)
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, MQ)
• SQL and NoSQL database experience

Java Backend Developer (AWS) – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with automated testing frameworks
• Architecture design and technology evaluation skills

Java Backend Developer (AWS) – Assignment Length:
This is a 6-month contract position.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Hybrid work arrangement with 2 days in the office (Monday and a floating day).
