Java Developer - Mid-Level:
On behalf of our finanical client, Procom is searching for a Java Developer - Mid-Level for a 6-month role. This position is onsite at our client’s Austin or Dallas, TX office.  

Java Developer - Mid-Level - Job Description:
The Java Developer - Mid-Level will work on designing and maintaining optimal programming and environment solutions. This role involves researching, developing solutions, and supporting tools and processes to gather detailed user requirements while driving strategic planning discussions with stakeholders.

Java Developer - Mid-Level - Responsibilities:
• Research and develop functional and technical specifications documents for production and test environments
• Architect and develop solutions that align with the organization's vision
• Participate in strategic planning discussions with stakeholders
• Review programming and environment changes for potential impacts
• Write efficient, easy-to-follow technical documentation
• Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical counterparts
• Utilize AI assistance for common development tasks

Java Developer - Mid-Level - Mandatory Skills:
• 3+ years of experience with Java, Spring framework, cloud development, and Web Services (REST, SOAP)
• Hands-on experience with GenAI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
• 2+ years of experience with ETL jobs or data pipeline/messaging frameworks
• 1+ years of experience with continuous build processes using tools like Bamboo, Bitbucket/Git
• 1+ years of experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), AWS, or GCP
• 1+ years of experience with distributed databases like MongoDB, Aerospike, Yugabyte, PostgreSQL

Java Developer - Mid-Level – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience in IT Transformations and system modernization initiatives
• Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience in an Agile environment
• Experience with the Atlassian tool stack (JIRA)
• Experience in Financial Services industry
• Proficiency in developing architectural and design documentation

This is a 6-month contract position.
