Java Developer:
On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a Java Developer for a 7 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Mississauga office.

Java Developer - Job Description:
The Java Developer will focus on developing and optimizing data pipelines for credit risk calculations and regulatory reporting within the financial enterprise technology space. This role involves working with large-scale distributed computing systems and offers an opportunity to learn Spark.

Java Developer - Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines for processing and analyzing large-scale financial data built on Core Java
• Lead projects for developing batch pipeline processes for credit risk analytics, including stress loss and expected credit loss
• Ensure efficient storage and retrieval of all risk data in big data platform systems (Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Spark, etc.)
• Implement best practices for Spark performance tuning, including partitioning, caching, and memory management
• Maintain code quality through high-efficiency testing, CI/CD pipelines, and version control

Java Developer - Mandatory Skills:
• 7+ years of experience in software development, specifically Core Java & Java 8 concepts
• 5+ years of experience in SQL/NoSQL database management systems
• 3+ years of experience leading software development projects
• Experience in financial market and credit risk enterprise software systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline technologies (GitHub, Tekton, Harness)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced TechFin environment
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Java Developer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with agentic AI tools (Devin, Claude, or Copilot)
• Familiarity with big data processing frameworks
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Experience with accessible software development practices

Java Developer – Assignment Length:
This is a 7 month contract position.

Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in the office.
