On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a Java / Spring Boot Developer Senior for a 2-month role. This position is a hybrid position with occasional onsite presence at our client’s Toronto office.

Java / Spring Boot Developer Senior - Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Java / Spring Boot Developer to support a Gate Appointment Modernization program for a major North American transportation and rail organization. The project involves the modernization of an enterprise Gate Appointment application, focusing on backend services for appointment creation and management, terminal selection, booking and reservation validation, and related workflows.

Java / Spring Boot Developer Senior - Responsibilities:
• Design and develop scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and microservices supporting gate appointment functionality
• Implement backend business logic supporting appointment creation and management workflows
• Support integrations required for booking, reservation, and gate appointment functionality
• Work closely with frontend, integration, architecture, and functional teams to define and implement service interfaces
• Translate functional requirements and user stories into robust technical solutions
• Develop unit and integration tests and support system/integration testing and defect resolution

Java / Spring Boot Developer Senior - Mandatory Skills:
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
• Solid understanding of Spring Framework and dependency injection
• Experience designing backend services using microservices architecture
• Strong SQL and relational database experience
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams

Java / Spring Boot Developer Senior – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with Azure DevOps and cloud-based application delivery environments
• Experience in transportation, logistics, terminal operations, booking, reservation, or appointment-management platforms
• Experience with application security, authentication/authorization, and enterprise API security patterns
• Experience working with distributed teams across frontend, backend, and integration workstreams
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills

Java / Spring Boot Developer Senior – Assignment Length:
This is a 2-month contract position.
