Laboratory Assistant 2:
On behalf of our Chemical industry client, Procom is searching for a Laboratory Assistant 2 for a 6-month role. This position is an onsite position at our client’s Greensboro, North Carolina office.

Job Description:
This unique position involves responsibilities in both the chemical warehouse and laboratory settings. The role is part of the Sample Distribution Team, which operates during normal weekday business hours, with potential seasonal overtime required due to business demand.

Responsibilities:
• Fulfill chemical sample requests, including retrieval, mixing, and decanting of chemicals.
• Fill samples from source containers such as drums and Intermediate Bulk Containers.
• Mix and decant chemicals using various equipment like air-powered drum mixers and pumps.
• Package sample shipments using equipment such as box assembly and heat sealers.
• Use inventory management software for processing shipments and maintaining data.
• Assist with physical inventories and organization projects in warehouse/laboratory areas.
• Complete administrative tasks related to sample request fulfillment.
• Compile data, update spreadsheets, and manage electronic databases.
• Assist with customer inquiries and data management projects.
• Organize email communications and transcribe notes.

Mandatory Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret numerical instructions.
• Understanding of Metric measurements and ability to perform unit conversions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Safety-conscious with the ability to meet sampling requirements efficiently.
• Capability of standing/walking for extended durations and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to move/lift heavy loads with material handling equipment.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Fork-lift experience or certification.
• Familiarity with IATA/DOT shipping regulations.
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts.

Assignment Length:
This is a tentatively scheduled 6-month position.
