On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a Lead Java Developer - Intermediate for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Mississauga office.

Lead Java Developer - Intermediate - Job Description:
The Global Spread Products Technology Team is seeking a Lead Java Developer to join their team. This role involves working on the development of complex enterprise software solutions, focusing on both new applications and redesigning older ones. The successful candidate will be heavily involved in implementing strategic Risk Systems for Global Spread Products.

Lead Java Developer - Intermediate - Responsibilities:
• Strong involvement in the design of server components and development in Java
• Planning software releases
• Providing 2nd level support for applications
• Collaborating with business analysts and stakeholders to interpret business requirements and create system designs
• Developing test cases to thoroughly test the codebase
• Applying software engineering best practices to produce high-quality applications
• Taking initiative and working productively when unsupervised, multitasking across multiple projects

Lead Java Developer - Intermediate - Mandatory Skills:
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Goal, client, and deadline-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
• Solid 10+ years of experience with Java development
• Extensive experience with cloud-based architectures (AWS, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes)
• Experience with RESTful service implementations

Lead Java Developer - Intermediate – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Prior Investment Banking Risk system experience
• Experience with message brokers
• Exposure to Clojure

Lead Java Developer - Intermediate – Assignment Length:
This is a 6 month contract position.
