Lead, Machine Learning Engineer:
On behalf of our Utilities client, Procom is searching for a Lead, Machine Learning Engineer for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Mississauga office.

Lead, Machine Learning Engineer - Job Description:
The Lead, Machine Learning Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and operationalization of AI and machine learning solutions that align with our client's strategic and operational goals. This role involves hands-on technical work and serves as a senior technical expert in the Emerging Technology team.

Lead, Machine Learning Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Lead the technical design, development, validation, and deployment of machine learning models and AI solutions
• Develop and refine predictive models, forecasting systems, computer vision solutions, and generative AI applications
• Perform in-depth analysis of large datasets to extract actionable insights and build predictive models
• Evaluate model performance using rigorous metrics and drive improvements through feature engineering and hyperparameter tuning
• Support the Technical Manager in planning, scoping, and estimating the technical effort for initiatives
• Implement and support MLOps practices, including model monitoring and retraining pipelines
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, and application teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise requirements

Lead, Machine Learning Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• 7–10 years of experience in machine learning engineering, data science, or software engineering
• Demonstrated experience delivering production-grade machine learning solutions
• Experience with generative AI, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation solutions
• Experience developing computer vision solutions and advanced predictive/forecasting analytics
• Experience implementing MLOps practices
• Strong programming skills in Python and modern AI/ML frameworks
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and enterprise application development

Lead, Machine Learning Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field
• Utility or energy-sector experience
• Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms
• Familiarity with data governance and responsible AI principles
• Experience with data visualization tools

This is a 12-month contract position.
