Lead Power BI Developer
On behalf of our Transportation client, Procom is searching for a Lead Power BI Developer for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Mississauga office.

Lead Power BI Developer - Job Description:
The Lead Power BI Developer will oversee the quality and consistency of Power BI and semantic-model layers within the Advanced Analytics department. This hands-on role involves building and maintaining standards, reusable models, and metric definitions while managing ad-hoc requests efficiently without compromising accuracy.

Lead Power BI Developer - Responsibilities:
• Own shared, well-structured semantic models and reusable, documented measures across reports.
• Maintain agreed definitions so the same number means the same thing everywhere.
• Set the standard for reconciling Power BI outputs back to Fabric and source data.
• Consume governed Lakehouse/Warehouse data and advise on what logic belongs upstream versus in BI.
• Review work, set patterns, and reduce dependency on any single developer.
• Triage and turn around ad-hoc requests quickly while protecting accuracy and reuse.

Lead Power BI Developer - Mandatory Skills:
• Five or more years in business intelligence/reporting.
• Four or more years developing Power BI solutions.
• Strong Power BI semantic models, DAX, and report development.
• Practical Microsoft Fabric experience (OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Direct Lake, refresh).
• Strong SQL with the ability to reconcile report numbers independently back to source.
• Strong dimensional and data modelling and grain management.
• Experience owning shared semantic models used by multiple stakeholders.

Lead Power BI Developer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Fabric semantic models and Direct Lake at scale.
• Deployment pipelines and workspace governance.
• Experience partnering with Data Scientists.
• Git-based or PBIP lifecycle management.
• Operational, capacity-planning, aviation, logistics or workforce/resource analytics.

This is a 6 month contract position.

Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position with 3 days in the office.
