Level 2 IT Technician:
On behalf of our Manufacturing client, Procom is searching for a Level 2 IT Technician for a 12 month contract role. This position is onsite at our client’s East Hawkesbury, ON office.

Level 2 IT Technician - Job Description:
The Level 2 IT Technician will provide advanced technical support by handling complex issues escalated from the Level 1 help desk. The primary focus is on maintaining and improving network reliability in the factory environment, ensuring the network is stable and highly available.

Level 2 IT Technician - Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and connectivity issues escalated by Level 1 staff
• Assess the current network and implement upgrades to improve uptime and speed
• Investigate communication loss affecting production machines using packet captures and monitoring tools
• Work with maintenance and automation teams on machine networks and VLAN segmentation
• Set up and maintain network monitoring and alerting systems
• Coordinate with vendors to diagnose and validate network fixes
• Document processes, procedures, and resolutions clearly and consistently
• Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory and Microsoft 365
• Deploy, configure, and maintain office hardware, including servers and network devices
• Mentor Level 1 technicians

Level 2 IT Technician - Mandatory Skills:
• Deep knowledge of Windows, macOS, Linux, and Windows Server operating systems
• Experience with Fortinet, FS, HPE, Ubiquiti, and Mikrotik network equipment
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and VLANs
• Proven troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems, and network connectivity
• Hands-on experience with JIRA or similar ITSM tools
• Ability to write clear, accurate technical documentation
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud environments

Level 2 IT Technician – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Fortinet NSE4 or higher certification
• Cisco CCNA certification
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure certifications
• ITIL 4 Foundation certification
• VMware VCP or equivalent virtualization certification

Level 2 IT Technician – Assignment Length:
This is a 12 month contract position.
