macOS Security Hardening & Remediation Specialist:
On behalf of our client, Procom is searching for a macOS Security Hardening & Remediation Specialist for a three-month role. This position is a remote position with a preference for Alberta-based candidates, but it is open to anywhere in Canada.

macOS Security Hardening & Remediation Specialist - Job Description:
The Security Hardening project involves performing comprehensive gap analyses and collaborating with Cybersecurity Governance to review Configuration Hardening Standards. The specialist will develop and implement robust hardening policies across endpoint layers to bridge the gap between core OS configurations, specialized applications, and database layers.

macOS Security Hardening & Remediation Specialist - Responsibilities:
• Conduct a deep-dive gap analysis of the current macOS fleet against Cybersecurity Governance Hardening Standards.
• Work with subject matter experts, security, and governance teams to derive hardened configuration baseline documentation.
• Design, test, and deploy configuration profiles, configuration files, and shell scripts to enforce strict compliance.
• Align macOS endpoint controls with specialized software layers.
• Manage the orchestration of security configuration updates across all macOS devices.
• Collaborate with the Apple Engineering team, DevOps, and Cybersecurity Governance.
• Deliver training, testing, and documentation.

macOS Security Hardening & Remediation Specialist - Mandatory Skills:
• Deep understanding of macOS security mechanics (e.g., FileVault, TCC/Privacy Preferences Policy Control).
• Advanced experience with Apple-centric MDM/UEM platforms, preferably Jamf Pro.
• Strong scripting skills in Zsh/Bash.
• Experience implementing the macOS Security Compliance Project (mSCP) or CIS Benchmarks for macOS.
• Solid understanding of ports, protocols, and services management.
• Ability to translate complex compliance documents into technical requirements.
• Strong documentation skills.

macOS Security Hardening & Remediation Specialist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with large-scale enterprise remediation projects.
• Familiarity with the Q2 Governance Standard.
• Experience working in a remote environment.
• Knowledge of database layer security.
• Ability to balance security with user productivity.
