Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer
On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer for a 6 month contract role. This position is a remote position for a Canadian resource.

Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer - Job Description:
Our client is rebuilding its analytics foundation in Microsoft Fabric following a move to a new ERP system. The project involves designing and building data pipelines, medallion layers, and a semantic model to support three priority reports. The role includes advising on data quality and preparing for Copilot readiness.

Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Connect the new ERP to Fabric, integrating current and historical data.
• Integrate additional data sources using SQL ETL and connect through APIs.
• Build a medallion architecture with bronze, silver, and gold layers.
• Deliver three initial reports on driver efficiency, barge utilization, and human resources.
• Plan for future roll-ups across subsidiaries with different Microsoft tenants and ERPs.
• Advise on data quality and best practices in Fabric.
• Recommend architectural considerations for future Copilot use.

Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• Proven delivery of end-to-end solutions on Microsoft Fabric.
• Hands-on experience with medallion architecture.
• Strong SQL and ETL skills, including REST API data ingestion.
• Experience connecting ERP platforms and reporting on historical and current data.
• Power BI experience in building semantic models and reports.
• Knowledge of data quality techniques and data governance in Fabric.
• Clear communication skills with business and technical stakeholders.

Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with multi-entity financial data and general-ledger mapping.
• Experience with ADP, Samsara, or transportation and logistics data.
• Problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Experience in accessible data practices.
• Familiarity with Copilot architecture considerations.

Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a 6 month contract position.
