On behalf of our Biotechnology client, Procom is searching for a Molecular Biologist - Research Scientist 1 for a permanent role. This position is an onsite position at our client’s Research Triangle Park, North Carolina office.

Job Description:
Join our Lead Production team to support high-throughput molecular biology and sample-production workflows that enable Trait Discovery projects. This role focuses on executing established laboratory procedures, ensuring accurate sample documentation, and adhering to quality and safety standards while collaborating closely with the team to meet production schedules.

Responsibilities:
• Perform bacterial transformations, plasmid purification, lysate generation, protein purification, and transient sample production.
• Culture and maintain microbial strains using aseptic techniques.
• Perform routine quality checks and maintain sample traceability throughout production workflows.
• Maintain accurate experimental records in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Follow established procedures, safety requirements, and laboratory best practices.
• Adapt to changing priorities and collaborate effectively across teams.

Mandatory Skills:
• Experience with aseptic technique and basic molecular biology workflows.
• Familiarity with bacterial culture, transformations, plasmid purification, and sample preparation.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and sample traceability.
• Ability to follow SOPs, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively in a team environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with protein purification, lysate generation, or transient sample production.
• Familiarity with automated liquid handling systems and LIMS.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Problem-solving abilities in a laboratory setting.
