Network Engineer:
On behalf of our Retail client, Procom is searching for a Network Engineer for a 7 month contract role. This position is an onsite position at our client’s Mississauga, Ontario office.

Network Engineer - Job Description:
The Network Engineer is responsible for planning and developing network infrastructure designs to meet company needs, both current and future. Utilizing data analytics, monitoring, and alerting, you will provide technical direction on future network design to meet or exceed long-term trends based on actual data and statistics. This role requires interaction with global peers and partners/providers to review and share designs and assist in building product and platform roadmaps.

Network Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Configure network equipment like switches, routers, AP, and firewalls located at over 430 sites, via remote access and in person.
• Update or upgrade existing hardware, or implement new functionalities such as new backup LTE, DSL migration, VLAN deployment, racking/stacking/cabling, switches retrofit, and routers upgrade.
• Participate in troubleshooting sessions with multidisciplinary teams in Walmart and with vendor partners to ensure optimal network operation.
• Contact associates in business units, like stores and distribution centers.
• Open tickets with vendor partners, mainly for equipment manufacturers and ISPs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network systems to find new ways to improve performance.
• Perform data backups, update virus protection software, and implement new network data security systems.

Network Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• 4-6 years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electronic Engineering.
• Knowledge on all Cisco and Juniper platforms (Routers, Switches).
• Experience developing, designing, configuring, and supporting large network infrastructures, notably in the WAN and LAN domain.
• Knowledge of server/workstation operating systems and basic support/troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of network security concepts, components, and architecture.
• Knowledgeable in routing protocols, especially BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.

Network Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• CCNP, CCIE, or JNCIE certification.
• Wifi knowledge, concepts, and support experience.
• Experience with programming/coding skills at the scripting level.

Network Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a 7 month contract position.
