Job Description
Network Specialist:On behalf of our retail (grocery/food) sector client, Procom is searching for a Network Specialist for a contract role. This position is hybrid in Calgary (3 days per week onsite).
Network Specialist - Job Description:
The Network Specialist will support enterprise network operations to ensure stability, performance, and ongoing evolution of the infrastructure in a complex, multi-site environment. The role combines operational support (incidents, monitoring, day-to-day network health) with participation in hardware deployment and improvement initiatives, working closely with cross-functional IT teams and a Montreal-based teammate.
Network Specialist - Responsibilities:
• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across Cisco, Meraki, and SolarWinds environments to meet high availability and performance standards.
• Support network projects (hardware deployments, infrastructure upgrades, future-state initiatives) while handling day-to-day operations and incident response.
• Analyze vulnerability reports and investigate alerts; leverage automation and scripting to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual work.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to align network architecture with broader infrastructure and cloud strategy.
• Monitor and maintain network health using SolarWinds and related tools; support capacity planning and proactive issue resolution.
• Participate in on-call support as needed.
• Complete other related tasks as assigned.
Network Specialist - Mandatory Skills:
• Hands-on experience in Cisco networking environments and network device configuration.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
• Familiarity with vulnerability reporting and alert triage.
• Ability to support technical projects within a broader team (without needing to lead them).
• Availability to participate in on-call rotation when required.
• Fluency in French and English (spoken and written).
• Ability to work onsite in Montreal three days per week (hybrid).
Network Specialist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience or exposure to next-generation networking technologies (e.g., Cisco ACI, Arista integration).
• Experience collaborating in cloud-aligned environments (e.g., Azure).
• Experience with automation/scripting to improve efficiency and reduce manual overhead.
Network Specialist – Assignment Length:
This is a contract position through the end of April (with potential for full-time conversion based on performance).

ASAP (approximately within two weeks of offer).

Calgary, Alberta, hybrid (3 days per week onsite).
