Patch Analyst I:
On behalf of our Energy client, Procom is searching for a Patch Analyst I for a 6-month contractor role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s San Antonio, Texas 78215 office. Please note sponsorship is unavailble.
Patch Analyst I - Job Description:
This position involves tracking and executing the distribution of security releases to company-owned infrastructure, including server environments and third-party software. The Patch Analyst I ensures compliance with regulatory processes while supporting vulnerability remediation activities and coordinating mitigation plans.
Patch Analyst I - Responsibilities:
• Track and document security releases from receipt through assessment, implementation, validation, or mitigation.
• Coordinate with relevant teams and application owners to evaluate security releases and schedule implementation activities.
• Document service and change requests within configuration management and change control processes.
• Monitor mitigation plans and escalate to management when releases risk missing required timelines.
• Generate recurring patch compliance and vulnerability remediation reports.
• Utilize automated software tools to evaluate applicable patches and validate remediation status.
• Support audit and regulatory activities by compiling and validating required documentation artifacts.
Patch Analyst I - Mandatory Skills:
• Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and patch lifecycle activities.
• Experience administering vulnerability remediation processes.
• Knowledge of configuration management and change control processes.
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, structured data analysis).
• Strong documentation discipline in audit-sensitive environments.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Patch Analyst I – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Experience in regulated critical infrastructure environments.
• IT auditing and/or security background.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable/Nessus preferred).
• Experience with reporting dashboards or data visualization tools (Power BI preferred).
