Patient Access Representative :
On behalf of our healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Patient Access Representative for a 6-month contract role. This position is an onsite position at our client’s Warrenville, Illinois office.

Patient Access Representative  - Job Description:
The Patient Access Representative Non-Clinical - Administrative role is focused on delivering high-quality customer service and ensuring efficient patient access processes. This position requires adherence to the Patients First philosophy and involves interacting with various hospital departments to maintain patient confidentiality and satisfaction.

Patient Access Representative - Responsibilities:
• Consistently practice Patients First philosophy and adhere to high standards of customer service.
• Respond to questions and concerns, and forward extraordinary issues to management.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and exceed consumer requests.
• Correctly identify and collect patient demographic information.
• Interact with hospital departments and physicians in a patient-friendly manner.
• Schedule appointments and perform medical necessity checks.
• Inform patients of financial account issues and complete out-of-pocket estimations.
• Provide training and education as needed and manage work schedule efficiently.
• Participate in Quality Assurance reviews and utilize effective service recovery skills.
• Adhere to department policies and compliance requirements.
• Communicate information regarding physician referrals and insurance.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefit levels using online tools.
• Proactively prevent issues with patient visits and suggest process improvements.
• Act as a training resource for new staff and adjust processes to meet quality standards.

Patient Access Representative - Mandatory Skills:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of customer service or medical office experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer data-entry/typing.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer skills and ability to type 40 wpm.
• Customer service oriented.

Patient Access Representative  – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with Epic or similar healthcare systems.
• Knowledge of insurance verification processes.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Problem-solving skills.

Patient Access Representative  – Assignment Length:
This is a 6 month contract position.
