Patient Access Specialist:
On behalf of our healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Patient Access Specialist for an ongoing role. This position is an onsite position at our client’s Chicago office.

Patient Access Specialist - Job Description:
The Patient Access Specialist provides convenient access to services for patients and minimizes financial risk to the organization. This role involves efficiently scheduling and pre-registering patients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data processing, and maintaining customer service objectives.

Patient Access Specialist - Responsibilities:
• Schedule and pre-register patients for upcoming services.
• Update insurance and demographic information.
• Perform medical necessity checks as appropriate.
• Verify that authorization was initiated by the physician’s office.
• Initiate financial account processes.
• Educate patients regarding policies, procedures, expectations, and financial responsibilities.
• Provide outstanding and professional customer service to all internal and external customers.

Patient Access Specialist - Mandatory Skills:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of customer service or medical office experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer data-entry/typing.
• Ability to type 40 wpm.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Customer service oriented.

Patient Access Specialist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Additional education.
• Additional language skills.
• Healthcare finance and/or healthcare insurance experience.
• Knowledge and experience in a healthcare setting, especially patient scheduling and/or registration.

Patient Access Specialist – Assignment Length:
This is a 6-month contract position.

Patient Access Specialist - Start Date:
ASAP.

Patient Access Specialist - Assignment Location:
Chicago, Illinois, onsite.
