Job Description
BMO is currently sourcing for a Policy Management Advisor.
This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto/Chicago/New York (close to BMO office).
Role Overview:
The Policy Management Advisor role supports the Capital Markets line of business by developing and executing a global policy management framework as part of a risk remediation initiative. The position involves establishing governance practices, ensuring documentation compliance with regulatory and internal standards, and transitioning policy management into a sustainable business-as-usual model. This role collaborates with subject matter experts and stakeholders to coordinate policy development, updates, and reviews, ensuring consistency and quality across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with SMEs and business stakeholders to edit, update, and refine documentation in line with governance standards and regulatory expectations
- Evaluate existing documentation and recommend opportunities to retire, consolidate, or enhance policies to improve clarity and efficiency
- Ensure all documents meet established policy management requirements, including formatting, version control, and approval processes
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the broader policy management function, including tracking deliverables and maintaining documentation repositories
- Support the evolution of the policy management framework as it transitions from remediation phase into business-as-usual operations
- Contribute to strengthening governance practices by identifying process improvements and enhancing overall policy management
Must-Have Skills:
- Project management and/or change management experience
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Stakeholder management
- Organizational skills and detail-oriented approach
- Policy writing experience
Nice to Have Skills:
- Banking background
- Tech savvy with basic Microsoft applications and AI tools
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working within Capital Markets or financial services environment
- Familiarity with governance frameworks and regulatory compliance in policy management
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and stakeholders
- Proven track record in supporting risk remediation or policy governance initiatives
