Job Description

BMO is currently sourcing for a Programmer Analyst - Senior. This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto (3 days in office per week).

Role Overview:

This role supports the design, development, execution, and optimization of customer marketing campaigns across multiple channels. The Programmer Analyst will leverage data-driven insights and technical expertise to build scalable campaign solutions, improve operational efficiency, and ensure accurate campaign execution. The position plays a key role in driving campaign performance and supporting business growth through continuous testing and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop complex SQL queries and SAS programs to support campaign audience generation, execution, and operational processes.
  • Utilize Python to automate manual processes, perform data analysis, and create validation utilities.
  • Design scalable, reusable, and sustainable campaign solutions to minimize manual intervention and operational risk.
  • Analyze customer, product, and campaign data to ensure data quality, integrity, and accurate execution.
  • Build reusable campaign frameworks and promote coding best practices and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with Technology and Data teams to support data integration, automation, and platform enhancements.
  • Investigate and resolve campaign production issues across SQL, SAS, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Unica platforms.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Execute campaign quality assurance, audience validation, negative testing, and production readiness reviews.
  • Analyze campaign results and proactively identify issues before deployment.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong expertise in SQL and SAS programming.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation and data analysis.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and Unica Campaign/Interact platforms.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable campaign solutions.
  • Knowledge of data integration and automation processes.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with campaign performance testing and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with coding best practices and documentation standards in marketing technology.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working in a hybrid environment with collaboration across technology and data teams.
  • Proven track record of improving operational efficiency through automation.
  • Ability to perform detailed root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Background in customer marketing campaign management and multi-channel campaign execution.

Qualifications

Experience with campaign performance testing and optimization techniques: 1 - 5 years (Desired)
Strong expertise in SQL and SAS programming.: 3 - 6 years (Required)
Proficiency in Python for automation and data analysis.: 1 - 5 years (Required)
