Project Buyer:
On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a Project Buyer for an 11 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Ottawa office.

Project Buyer - Job Description:
As a Project Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end transactional procurement process, including RFX activities and the full Purchase Requisition (PR) and Purchase Order (PO) lifecycle. Your role will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement in supplier performance and optimizing commodity costs.

Project Buyer - Responsibilities:
• Manage RFx activities and conduct local negotiations within delegated thresholds.
• Prepare purchasing reports and analyses to inform team strategy.
• Execute and own the fulfillment process from purchase requisition to order creation.
• Engage with suppliers to confirm PO receipt and secure delivery commitments.
• Meet weekly with internal project teams to review procurement priorities.
• Ensure procurement activities align with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support the implementation of improved SAP or other system functionalities.

Project Buyer - Mandatory Skills:
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a supply chain environment.
• Experience in understanding contract terms & conditions.
• Previous experience using SAP or other ERP systems.
• Ability to prioritize tasks while meeting deadlines in high-pressure environments.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Must be able to obtain a Canadian NATO Secret clearance.

Project Buyer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Purchasing or Financial Certification.
• Previous experience in the Defense Industry.
• Knowledge of Export regulations.
• Knowledge of Industrial Technical Benefits.
• Canadian Content Value knowledge.

Project Buyer – Assignment Length:
This is a 11 month contract position.

ASAP.

Project Buyer - Assignment Location:
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Hybrid position with 3 days in office.
