Job Description
Project Control Engineer:On behalf of our Oil & Gas client, Procom is searching for a Project Control Engineer for a 12-month role. This position is an onsite position at our client’s Calgary office.
Project Control Engineer - Job Description:
The Project Control Engineer will be responsible for overseeing project controls reporting and cost analysis activities for operations. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and quality of project controls, coordinating cost analysis, and supporting project management with project control matters.
Project Control Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Prepare and ensure the accuracy and quality of overall project controls reporting.
• Coordinate project cost analysis activities.
• Utilize Cost Control System and/or SAP for documentation and cost coding.
• Liaise with project management on project control matters.
• Identify and prepare estimates for change orders and extra work orders.
• Conduct site cost reporting assignments.
• Assist in preparing detailed engineering, procurement, and construction schedules.
• Coordinate Project Closeout Report and ensure proper data gathering.
• Maximize value and minimize waste in work processes.
• Prepare budgets for capital and operating expenditures.
• Facilitate purchasing and contracting processes with the SCM department.
• Communicate effectively with CI ECC and respond to project control requests.
• Make judgment decisions based on data analysis and recommend improvements.
• Assist in training junior staff and resolving problems.
Project Control Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or engineering-related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Experience in Project Control or Cost Control.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and SAP.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Understanding of construction-related experience.
Project Control Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• PMP Certification.
• AACE Certification.
• CCP (AACI Certification).
• Experience with project closeout processes.
• Knowledge of oil sands operations.
Project Control Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a 12-month contractor role.
