Job Description

BMO is currently sourcing for a Senior Project Manager to support the Online Business Banking (OBB) project initiatives. This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto (2 days in office per week).

Role Overview:
The Senior Project Manager will oversee various tech-focused projects within the Commercial Banking division, particularly for the OBB portfolio. The role entails working in a fast-paced environment with multiple implementations, requiring quick delivery and effective management of resources across diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage project planning and execution for OBB initiatives.
- Coordinate with multiple technology teams to ensure timely delivery of project components.
- Implement Agile/Waterfall hybrid methodologies to enhance delivery efficiency.
- Anticipate and address potential escalations proactively.
- Communicate project statuses and changes to stakeholders effectively.
- Oversee sprint planning and resource allocation for various tech implementations.
- Deliver monthly project updates and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

Must-Have Skills:
- Proven experience inmanaging technology projects, specifically in an Agile/Waterfall hybrid environment.
- Strong understanding of project management frameworks, with technology domain expertise.
- Ability to effectively work cross-functionally with diverse teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on anticipating challenges.
- Proficiency in tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous experience in the banking sector.
- Familiarity with project delivery for payment-related initiatives.

Ideal Candidate:
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced project environment with multiple deliverables.
- Experience with launching tech projects targeting various customer bases.
- Recognized for strong communication skills and efficient team collaboration.

Qualifications

Previous experience in the banking sector.: 1 - 5 years (Desired)
Familiarity with project delivery for payment-related initiatives.: 1 - 5 years (Desired)
Proficiency in tools such as Jira and Confluence.: 1 - 5 years (Required)
