Job Description
BMO is currently sourcing for a Project Manager – Cloud Migration to support the TPS & Payments Modernization group. This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto.
Role Overview:
BMO is seeking a hands-on, senior Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of cloud migration initiatives. The role involves managing full Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) projects, particularly within financial services and payments environments, ensuring successful delivery across multiple workstreams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project delivery across all phases of the PMLC (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure).
- Manage cloud migration projects to AWS, ensuring alignment with business and technology objectives.
- Act as an accountable PM, owning timelines, budget, scope, risks, and deliverables.
- Identify, engage, and manage stakeholders across BMO, including business, technology, and operations teams.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate deliverables with external partners.
- Drive project governance, reporting, and executive-level communication.
- Handle multiple projects or workstreams, depending on project phase and workload.
- Ensure effective risk management, issue resolution, and change control processes.
Must-Have Skills:
- 8+ years of Project Management experience in large enterprise environments.
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end projects (full PMLC ownership).
- Strong experience in Cloud Migration projects (AWS preferred).
- Demonstrated hands-on PM experience (not just oversight).
- Strong stakeholder management across complex organizations.
- Experience with vendor management.
- Financial services/banking experience.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in Payments systems or modernization initiatives.
- Exposure to Fircosoft (highly preferred asset).
- Experience in Commercial Banking environments.
- Certifications: PMP, CSM or equivalent.
Ideal Candidate:
- Highly accountable, execution-focused PM.
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Able to balance strategic oversight with hands-on delivery.
