QA Automation Engineer

On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a QA Automation Engineer for a 12-month engagement in Richmond, BC

QA Automation Engineer Job Details
The QA Automation Engineer plays  a critical role in ensuring product quality across the Claims Management System (CMS) and related enterprise applications and platforms. This role combines hands on quality engineering, test automation, and performance testing in collaboration across Solution Architecture, Database Architecture, Development, DevOps, Common Engineering and cross functional product teams.
 

  • Analyze requirements and define test strategies, plans, and estimates for complex initiatives.
  • Create, maintain, and execute functional, regression, integration, API, database, E2E, UI, non functional, and performance test cases.
  • Shift quality left by collaborating early during backlog refinement, iteration planning, and architectural reviews.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automation frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot automation failures, maintain scripts (e.g., Robot Framework, JMeter), and ensure stable environments for automated execution.
  • Contribute to the evolution toward automation first and AI assisted test generation, anomaly detection, and intelligent regression selection.
  • Perform root cause analysis of defects and production issues; coordinate fixes with relevant engineering teams.
  • Support triage activities during UAT, incident reviews, or live verification post changes. 

 

QA Automation Engineer Mandatory Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or STEM.
  • 6–8+ years of hands on QA engineering experience in enterprise systems, ideally with functional + non functional coverage.
  • Strong experience with test automation frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of JMeter or Robot Framework in script creation, debugging, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with AI assisted testing tools (predictive defect detection, automated test generation).
  • Proven ability to collaborate across diverse technical teams (Architecture, Developers, Operations, DB).
  • Excellent communication skills for cross functional facilitation, documentation, and triage.
