QA Engineer:
On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a Quality Assurance Engineer for a 12  month contract role. This position is a remote position with the client’s office located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

QA Engineer - Job Description:
Our client is hiring a contract QA Engineer to test and debug web applications, find defects, and help resolve them. This role involves working directly with code and, when necessary, writing fixes, using the .NET and JavaScript stack on applications hosted in Microsoft Azure.

QA Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Test application changes against business requirements and report defects clearly.
• Debug code-level issues by reading the source, tracing faults, and identifying root causes.
• Write and submit code fixes for defects where scope allows.
• Step into development work when business priorities call for it.
• Verify fixes across environments and confirm that nothing else broke.
• Work through the project management process and keep defect status current.
• Flag quality and requirements risks early, before they reach production.

QA Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• Post-secondary education in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Commercial QA experience on web applications and real development experience.
• Strong debugging skills to read unfamiliar code and find the cause of a defect.
• Working knowledge of .NET and JavaScript, enough to write and submit fixes.
• Familiarity with web infrastructure and systems, and how environments differ.
• Experience working inside a formal project management methodology and workflow.

QA Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience testing applications hosted on Microsoft Azure.
• Test automation experience with Selenium, Playwright, or similar.
• Azure DevOps or comparable defect tracking and CI/CD tooling.
• SQL for data validation and defect investigation.

QA Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a 12  month contract position.

Remote position located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
