Job Description

Records Management Specialist - Bilingual:
On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a Records Management Specialist - Bilingual for a 3 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Records Management Specialist - Bilingual - Job Description:
The successful candidate will join the client's Records and Information Management Office (RIMO) to provide hands-on guidance and support across all phases of the engagement. This includes retention rule design, governance review, change management, and operationalization planning, ensuring compliance with Canadian federal legislative requirements.

Records Management Specialist - Bilingual - Responsibilities:
• Draft standardized retention rules, including titles, descriptions, document examples, information owners, retention periods, triggers, and justifications
• Design and recommend logical organization of retention rules using approaches such as "big bucket" groupings
• Review and provide recommendations on records and information management policies, directives, and governance frameworks
• Conduct research on applicable federal and provincial legislation and regulations containing retention period requirements
• Draft change management plans and develop training plans and content
• Develop training tools including short explanatory videos, guides, procedures, and learning sessions

Records Management Specialist - Bilingual - Mandatory Skills:
• 5+ years of professional experience in records management, information governance, or archival support
• Active membership in the Association of Canadian Archivists (ACA), or ARMA International
• Knowledge of the Canadian federal legislative and regulatory environment as it relates to records retention and disposition
• Familiarity with ISO standard 15489-1:2016 and ARMA International best practices
• Proficiency in Google Workspace for collaborative work
• Full professional proficiency in both English and French

Records Management Specialist - Bilingual – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Proven change management and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Experience with records and information management mandates for Canadian federal government departments or agencies
• Experience working with media industry organizations in the public or private sector
• Demonstrated experience drafting retention rules as part of a retention schedule creation or modernization project

This is a contract position with a length dependent on project requirements.
