Software Developer - Intermediate-AI/ML:
On behalf of our Government client, Procom is searching for a Software Developer - Intermediate-AI/ML for a 4 month contract role. This position is onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Software Developer - Intermediate-AI/ML - Job Description:
The Government of Ontario is initiating a significant Data & AI transformation project centered on the Ontario Data Platform (ODP). This new development aims to establish an enterprise technology ecosystem for data and AI, serving internal government clusters and external agencies in the future.

Software Developer - Intermediate-AI/ML - Responsibilities:
• Run and monitor inferences by executing batch inference jobs on Databricks and other environments.
• Troubleshoot inference issues, log results, and escalate model anomalies.
• Assist with running DSPy pipelines and loading custom models/configs.
• Support evaluation runs using internal metrics and track performance metrics for inference experiments.
• Prepare and clean legal text datasets for inference and evaluation, and annotate outputs for error analysis and benchmarking.
• Maintain reproducible scripts/notebooks for inference runs.

Software Developer - Intermediate-AI/ML - Mandatory Skills:
• Background in Computer Science, Data Science, or AI/ML.
• Familiarity with Python and libraries like pandas, scikit-learn, or PyTorch.
• Exposure to LLM frameworks such as DSPy, LangChain, or Hugging Face.
• Comfortable working with Databricks / MLflow or other cloud ML environments.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for tracking experiments.

Software Developer - Intermediate-AI/ML – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with data ingestion technologies.
• Knowledge of data governance and AI/ML model deployment.
• Previous work with government data platforms or large-scale data projects.

Software Developer - Intermediate-AI/ML – Assignment Length:
This is a 4 month contract position.

Software Developer - Intermediate-AI/ML - Start Date:
ASAP.

Software Developer - Intermediate-AI/ML - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This position is onsite, requiring presence at the office 5 days a week.
