Senior Software Developer Engineer in Test (SDET)
On behalf of our Financial client, Procom is searching for a Software Developer Engineer in Test for a 7-month contract role. This position is onsite at our client's Austin or Southlake, Texas office.

Job Description:
As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test with AI, you will play a crucial role in defining and executing quality engineering practices across modern application stacks. This involves partnering with various teams to enhance test automation, release confidence, and engineering productivity with AI-assisted SDLC practices.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with product owners, developers, architects, and cross-functional teams to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive test strategies.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and test suites across multiple validation layers.
• Drive quality engineering best practices by integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate distributed, high-volume, and event-driven systems, ensuring data integrity and operational readiness.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve test design, automation development, and engineering productivity.
• Create and maintain quality artifacts, including test plans and audit-ready documentation.
• Collaborate with globally distributed teams to influence quality outcomes across the SDLC.

Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software testing, test automation, or quality engineering for enterprise applications.
• Experience with API testing, UI automation, and integration testing.
• Experience validating cloud-native or service-based applications on platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and automation design principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration and collaboration tools like GitHub or Jira.
• Demonstrated experience using GenAI coding assistants across SDLC workflows.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test on Agile teams.
• Experience with performance, reliability, or production-readiness testing.
• Experience in the financial services domain.
• Exposure to AI/ML implementation concepts and AI-assisted quality engineering practices.
• Experience mentoring engineers on quality engineering and test automation.

Assignment Length:
This is a 7-month contract position.
