Security Analyst I:
On behalf of our cybersecurity client, Procom is searching for a Security Analyst I for a contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Houston, Texas office.

Security Analyst I - Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tier 1 Cyber Security Analyst to join a 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC). In this role, you will serve as the first line of defense against cyber threats by monitoring security events, investigating alerts, and escalating potential incidents in accordance with established security procedures.

Security Analyst I - Responsibilities:
• Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM platforms, endpoint protection tools, and other security technologies.
• Perform initial investigation and triage of security alerts to determine severity, scope, and potential business impact.
• Analyze system logs, network traffic, endpoint activity, authentication events, and email security alerts.
• Enrich investigations with threat intelligence, asset information, and user context to improve incident analysis.
• Escalate confirmed or suspected security incidents to Tier 2 or Tier 3 analysts following established response procedures.
• Document investigations, findings, and response activities within incident management systems.
• Support 24/7 SOC operations through rotating shift schedules.

Security Analyst I - Mandatory Skills:
• Experience working with SIEM platforms such as Splunk.
• Familiarity with SOAR technologies and automated incident response workflows.
• Experience investigating security alerts and following established escalation procedures.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, Windows event logs, and log analysis.
• Familiarity with Microsoft security solutions and Azure cloud environments.

Security Analyst I – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with enterprise email security platforms, such as Proofpoint.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• CompTIA CySA+ certification.
• Splunk Core Certified User.
• Microsoft Security certifications (e.g., SC-200, AZ-500).

Security Analyst I – Assignment Length:
This is a 12 month contract position.
