Job Description

Security Developer:
On behalf of our financial services client, Procom is searching for a Security Developer for a short-term role. This position is a hybrid position with 1 day/week onsite at our client’s Calgary office.

Security Developer - Job Description:
The developer in this role will help to safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of digital assets by designing, building, and defending scalable, secure, and robust systems. They will lead Security Architecture Reviews and provide authoritative guidance on complex identity flows like OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and JWT implementation, ensuring "Security-by-Design" is integrated from inception to sunset.

Security Developer - Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and architect scalable security features and identity adapters.
• Engineer and automate application security testing (SAST/DAST/SCA) within CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead Security Architecture Reviews for complex client identity flows.
• Define the standardized security control library and verify its effectiveness.
• Review application architecture from a security perspective.
• Assist departments in assessing and implementing security controls.
• Engineer and deploy Automated Security Validation (ASV) frameworks.
• Design scalable 'Security-as-Code' suites for control effectiveness verification.
• Operationalize Threat Modeling and mentor junior developers.
• Influence organizational security culture and lead "Security Champion" programs.
• Design and oversee security telemetry pipelines and executive dashboards.

Security Developer - Mandatory Skills:
• Experience with Custom Code Gating and Automation.
• Proficiency in AI Vulnerability Remediation and Visibility.
• Knowledge of Complete Software Inventory (SBOM).
• Expertise in Secure Development Assurance.
• Ability to define Measurable Security Performance metrics.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Security Developer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Familiarity with STRIDE-based Threat Modeling.
• Experience in mentoring junior developers.
• Knowledge of security telemetry pipeline design.
• Understanding of executive dashboard development.
• Experience in leading "Security Champion" programs.

Security Developer – Assignment Length:
This is a short-term contract position ending on 9/30/2026, with a possibility for extension.
