Security Engineer:
On behalf of our technology client, Procom is searching for a Security Engineer for a 2 month contract role. This position is 4 days per week remote, and 1 day onsite at our client’s Calgary office.

Security Engineer - Job Description:
The project focuses on Offensive Security & Threat Intelligence, involving advanced threat emulation and testing to ensure robust organizational security. The Security Engineer will engage in activities such as penetration testing and crisis simulation to enhance detection and response capabilities against real-world threats.

Security Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Execute hands-on penetration testing for apps, APIs, networks, and cloud environments
• Design and conduct complex red team operations
• Facilitate strategic crisis simulations and tabletop exercises
• Govern third-party penetration testing vendors, defining technical scopes and validating findings
• Translate technical vulnerabilities into clear business risks and drive remediation
• Partner with blue teams to provide technical remediation guidance and validate security fixes
• Develop technical documentation and custom automation scripts for operational optimization

Security Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• Penetration Testing
• Crisis Simulation & Tabletop Leadership (TTX experience)
• Strong communication skills
• Document drafting and reporting
• Vendor governance and lifecycle management
• Cross-functional risk translation
• Remediation governance and defensive sync

Security Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with cloud security
• Familiarity with automation scripting
• Knowledge of threat intelligence platforms
• Experience in operational optimization
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Security Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a 2 month contract position.
