Job Description
A leading provider of security and low-voltage solutions is seeking a Systems Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining security systems across various industries, including high-security environments. If you have experience with low-voltage systems, cabling, and system integration, this is an opportunity to work on critical projects with a highly skilled team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and manage low-voltage cabling for security, access control, CCTV, audio/visual, and wireless communication systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair system and equipment issues as needed.
- Provide accurate documentation, including test reports, commissioning reports, and system certifications.
- Communicate daily project updates and any non-compliance issues to project management teams.
- Lead and manage medium-to-large mission-critical projects independently.
- Read and interpret floor plans, specifications, and project documentation to ensure proper system installation.
- Maintain best practices in cabling, fire-stopping, and device connectivity (LAN and Internet access).
- Deliver professional customer service, ensuring strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- 4-6 years of experience installing and commissioning security, data communication, and low-voltage systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion, A/V, Wireless).
- OSHA 10 Certification.
- MA State D-License (Required for MA Security work).
- Ability to travel throughout New England (MA, RI, NH, ME).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in using low-voltage testing tools, crimp tools, and other construction-related tools.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, system integration, and troubleshooting device connectivity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in detention facilities, prisons, courts, and other high-security environments.
- Certifications in integrated security systems, fire-stopping (Hilti/3M), boom/scissor lift operations.
- RI TST Data License.
Work Conditions
- Must be available for off-hours work (second/third shifts, weekends) as projects require.
- Participation in on-call service rotation as needed.
