On behalf of our technology client, Procom is searching for a Senior Back-End Developer / Technical Lead (PHP/Laravel) for a permanent role. This position is onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

Senior Back-End Developer / Technical Lead (PHP/Laravel) - Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Back-End Developer / Technical Lead to join our internal technology team. This individual will act as a senior contributor and mentor while helping shape the architecture and evolution of our internally developed systems. The ideal candidate combines deep PHP and database expertise with strong business acumen, leadership capability, and the ability to deliver solutions in a rapidly changing environment.

Senior Back-End Developer / Technical Lead (PHP/Laravel) - Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain business-critical applications
• Lead and mentor a team of 3–5 developers
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Architect solutions that integrate effectively with existing systems
• Support multiple concurrent projects and rapidly changing priorities
• Perform database design, optimization, and maintenance activities
• Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver value
• Maintain and improve existing platforms supporting eCommerce, inventory, logistics, and operations
• Participate in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and ongoing system enhancements

Senior Back-End Developer / Technical Lead (PHP/Laravel) - Mandatory Skills:
• 7+ years of professional PHP development experience
• 7+ years of MySQL database experience
• Strong Laravel framework expertise
• Experience working within LAMP environments
• Linux server administration experience
• Strong architecture and solution design capabilities
• Experience mentoring developers and providing technical leadership

Senior Back-End Developer / Technical Lead (PHP/Laravel) – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience developing eCommerce platforms
• Experience supporting retail, logistics, supply chain, or inventory systems
• JavaScript and jQuery experience
• HTML, CSS, and UI development experience
• Bilingual English/French

This is a permanent position.
