Senior Data Engineer
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Senior Data Engineer for a 12 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Senior Data Engineer - Job Description:
The Senior Data Engineer will be involved in a project focused on vendor integration. This project requires the development and maintenance of technical solutions that adhere to engineering and architectural design principles while meeting business requirements.

Senior Data Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Leverage deep technology expertise in data engineering, Azure Databricks, Python, SQL, and cloud data platforms.
• Execute on Engineering strategy related to data ingestion, transformation, and deployment activities.
• Partner with the Operations team for automated/self-serve data pipeline releases.
• Work with partners across Technology to identify and leverage synergies.
• Act as an expert in driving modern data engineering practices and platform standards.
• Implement best practices for engineering and management, including AI integration into the SDLC.
• Keep abreast of trends, products, frameworks, and applications in the industry.

Senior Data Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• 7+ years relevant experience in data engineering
• Azure Databricks
• Python notebooks
• Job orchestration
• SQL development
• API service layer implementation
• Deep hands-on experience with ADLS, ADF, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, and Airflow

Senior Data Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Integrating AI into the SDLC using reusable prompts and agents
• Building enterprise-grade software and frameworks
• Designing scalable solutions capable of handling multi-millions of records daily

Senior Data Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a 12 month contract position with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent role.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days in office and 1 day working from home.
