Senior Data Scientist/Data Engineer:
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Senior Data Scientist/Data Engineer for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Senior Data Scientist/Data Engineer - Job Description:
The project involves enhancing operational efficiencies and developing models/rules for monitoring requirements in data science projects. The role primarily focuses on supporting FCRM transaction monitoring systems to mitigate money laundering and terrorist financing risks.

Senior Data Scientist/Data Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Work independently as a senior lead on various data management projects
• Provide maintenance of transaction monitoring scenarios and analytical queries
• Conduct AML/ATF scenario performance tuning and model performance monitoring
• Maintain documentation for audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements
• Assist with transaction monitoring issues from Global AML members
• Provide analytical thought leadership and stay ahead of data mining developments
• Partner with FCRM teams for implementing solutions and serve as a data science ambassador
• Build and maintain transaction monitoring, customer behavior, and risk scoring models
• Offer insights into leading analytic practices and produce creative analytic solutions
• Collaborate with business teams to identify improvement areas using data and models

Senior Data Scientist/Data Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• Extensive experience building predictive models with machine learning methods
• Expert knowledge of Python, Pyspark, Data Bricks, Azure, and SQL
• Expert data exploration and analysis skills
• Ability to apply statistical techniques and data mining tools to solve business problems
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and well-organized

Senior Data Scientist/Data Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Data bricks, programming, or statistics certifications
• Knowledge of Java, Scala, or Tableau
• AML knowledge and experience on data-driven projects
• Experience in banking or financial institutions

Senior Data Scientist/Data Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension based on business needs and performance.
