Senior DataDog Specialist:
On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a Senior DataDog Specialist for a 3 month contract role. This position is a remote position with the client located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Senior DataDog Specialist - Job Description:
The role involves supporting the data center exit and multi-cloud migration to Azure and GCP by building out DataDog-based monitoring and observability. The specialist will review and optimize existing Service Level Objective (SLO) configurations while aligning with the operations team.

Senior DataDog Specialist - Responsibilities:
• Build and expand DataDog monitoring capabilities across infrastructure and cloud platforms.
• Configure alerting systems and build operational dashboards.
• Define, validate, and optimize Service Level Objectives (SLOs); review existing SLO configurations for accuracy and completeness.
• Establish operational thresholds that reflect real service performance targets.
• Integrate observability workflows with Atlassian-based incident management processes.
• Maintain an audit record of monitoring and alerting changes made.
• Follow established implementation patterns and approved processes rather than defining new standards.

Senior DataDog Specialist - Mandatory Skills:
• Senior-level, hands-on DataDog expertise across monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding.
• Experience defining, validating, and tuning Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
• Experience integrating observability tooling with Atlassian incident management workflows (e.g., Jira Service Management, Opsgenie).
• Comfortable reviewing and optimizing existing configurations, not just building new ones from scratch.
• Able to work effectively in a team that is still maturing its agile practices, without dedicated business analysts or scrum masters.
• Resilient and adaptable — comfortable when approvals or decisions take longer while a growing organization figures out ownership.
• Clear, proactive communicator who identifies issues early and proposes solutions.

Senior DataDog Specialist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with Azure and GCP cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with data center exit strategies.
• Experience in establishing operational thresholds.
• Knowledge of audit record maintenance.
• Experience working in a remote team environment.

Senior DataDog Specialist – Assignment Length:
This is a 3-month contract position with a strong preference for candidates open to contract-to-hire.
