On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer – Spread Products for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Mississauga office.

Senior Forward Deployed Engineer – Spread Products - Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with our Fintech clients in the Spread Products space. The role involves architecting, building, and deploying production-grade solutions in collaboration with client trading, risk, and operations teams, while owning the full technical delivery lifecycle from discovery to production hardening.

Senior Forward Deployed Engineer – Spread Products - Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary technical point of contact embedded with client teams to gather requirements, scope solutions, and define technical sequencing.
• Rapidly prototype and deliver production-ready applications using Java or Python.
• Balance tradeoffs between scope, speed, and quality to meet aggressive client timelines.
• Own Discovery & Scoping engagements, translating business asks into technical specifications.
• Demonstrate strong business acumen and establish continuous product feedback loops with client stakeholders.
• Produce clear technical documentation and communicate complex architecture decisions.

Senior Forward Deployed Engineer – Spread Products - Mandatory Skills:
• Expert-level proficiency in Java (Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, REST/gRPC APIs) and/or strong production experience in Python (FastAPI/Flask, data processing libraries).
• Hands-on experience with Tekton/OpenShift Pipelines and Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline design and management.
• Strong database expertise across Oracle Database, MS SQL Server, and MongoDB.
• Demonstrated knowledge of DevOps practices: containerization (Docker/OpenShift/Kubernetes), infrastructure as code, and cloud deployment.
• Excellent communication, technical writing, and stakeholder management skills.
• High agency, ownership mindset, and comfort operating with ambiguity.

Senior Forward Deployed Engineer – Spread Products – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Domain knowledge of Fintech, Capital Markets, or Spread Products.
• Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Consultant.
• Experience using Python for quantitative analytics, pricing models, or ML-driven risk tooling.
• Monitoring/Observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/Splunk).
• Experience with event-driven architectures.

This is a 6 month contract position.
