Senior Java Developer:
On behalf of our financial services client, Procom is searching for a Senior Java Developer for a contract role. 

Senior Java Developer - Job Description:
The Senior Java Developer will be part of a team focused on supporting and enhancing applications to improve client experiences. This role involves hands-on technical design, development, and architectural contributions to large-scale systems within the Canadian IT Platforms and Engineering team.

Senior Java Developer - Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Agile team members to design, develop, and deliver high-quality web applications
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers
• Conduct thorough code reviews and establish coding standards
• Communicate technical risks and constraints to stakeholders
• Drive quality standards and testing practices
• Leverage AI tools to enhance development productivity and code quality
• Participate in agile ceremonies and support on-call and incident response

Senior Java Developer - Mandatory Skills:
• Minimum 8 years of progressive information technology experience
• Expert-level knowledge of Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot
• Strong experience with Microservices and API Development
• Advanced understanding of front-end development, particularly React
• Proficiency with SOAP/XML, REST/JSON
• Hands-on experience using DevOps tools
• Proficiency with AI-powered development tools

Senior Java Developer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with Kafka
• Containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of responsible AI practices
• A penchant for creating re-usable components
• Flexible and adaptable with changing priorities

Senior Java Developer – Assignment Length:
This is a 7-month contract position 

Senior Java Developer - Start Date:
ASAP.

Senior Java Developer - Assignment Location:
Toronto with a hybrid work arrangement requiring 1-2 days per week in the office.
