Senior Microsoft Fabric / Data Architecture Consultant:
On behalf of our Public Sector client, Procom is searching for a Senior Microsoft Fabric / Data Architecture Consultant for a 12 month contract role. This position is a remote role based in Thorold, Ontario, Canada.

Senior Microsoft Fabric / Data Architecture Consultant - Job Description:
The project involves reviewing and modernizing the client's existing data architecture, focusing on the migration and optimization of legacy systems to Microsoft Fabric. This includes hands-on development work and ensuring alignment with best practices in data lifecycle management.

Senior Microsoft Fabric / Data Architecture Consultant - Responsibilities:
• Review and validate current architecture, methodology, standards, patterns, and implementation approach.
• Assess alignment with Microsoft Fabric, data warehouse, BI, and data lifecycle best practices.
• Identify improvement opportunities and support implementation of approved changes.
• Support refactoring of legacy SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS components to Microsoft Fabric and related Microsoft BI capabilities.
• Assist with performance tuning and optimization of data warehouse structures, pipelines, semantic models, and reporting workloads.
• Research new or currently underused Microsoft Fabric features and recommend practical implementation opportunities.
• Create clear technical documentation, decision records, implementation guidance, and knowledge transfer materials.

Senior Microsoft Fabric / Data Architecture Consultant - Mandatory Skills:
• Senior-level data architecture and enterprise data warehouse design experience.
• Hands-on Microsoft Fabric implementation experience.
• Strong Microsoft BI background including SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and Power BI.
• Strong Microsoft Azure background.
• Experience across ingestion, modeling, transformation, semantic layers, reporting, governance, deployment, and operations.
• Experience modernizing or refactoring legacy BI environments to Fabric, Azure data platform, or comparable cloud analytics platforms.
• Demonstrated optimization and performance tuning experience.

Senior Microsoft Fabric / Data Architecture Consultant – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Power BI certification or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience with data governance, architecture standards, security, privacy, access patterns, and documentation.
• Public-sector or municipal experience.

Senior Microsoft Fabric / Data Architecture Consultant – Assignment Length:
This is a 12 month contract position.
