Senior Middleware and UNIX Specialist:
On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a Senior Middleware and UNIX Specialist for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2-3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Senior Middleware and UNIX Specialist - Job Description:
The Senior Middleware and UNIX Specialist is tasked with the design, implementation, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise Middleware and UNIX platforms supporting critical banking applications. This role involves providing technical leadership across production and non-production environments to ensure platform stability, security, compliance, and operational excellence.

Senior Middleware and UNIX Specialist - Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the strategic roadmap for Middleware and UNIX platforms
• Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and support enterprise middleware platforms such as IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM MQ
• Administer and support AIX and Linux operating systems
• Perform server builds, migrations, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
• Design and develop automation using Shell scripting, Python, and related tools
• Provide Level 3 technical support for critical incidents and problem management
• Ensure systems comply with regulatory, audit, and security requirements

Senior Middleware and UNIX Specialist - Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of hands-on experience supporting Middleware and UNIX platforms in large enterprise production environments
• Expert knowledge of IBM AIX, Linux (RHEL preferred), VIOS, HMC, and Shell scripting
• Strong experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM MQ
• Proficiency in Shell scripting, Python, Java, Perl, and infrastructure automation tools
• Experience supporting mission-critical applications with high availability requirements
• Experience working in regulated and compliance-driven environments

Senior Middleware and UNIX Specialist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• IBM Certified System Administrator (AIX)
• IBM WebSphere and MQ Certifications
• Red Hat Certification
• Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• ITIL Foundation

Senior Middleware and UNIX Specialist – Assignment Length:
This is a 12-month contract position.

ASAP.

Senior Middleware and UNIX Specialist - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This position is hybrid with 2-3 days in the office per week.
