Senior Middleware Specialist:
On behalf of our Healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Senior Middleware Specialist for a 12-month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office. 

Senior Middleware Specialist - Job Description:
The successful candidate will be involved in a critical healthcare project focusing on the migration of the Health Information Access Layer (HIAL) to AWS. This project involves the modernization of middleware components, including the containerization of IBM DataPower and IBM App Connect Enterprise, as well as the upgrade of operating systems and Java Spring Boot microservices.

Senior Middleware Specialist - Responsibilities:
• Perform all technical activities required for the HIAL technology upgrade and migration to AWS, including system preparation, deployment, configuration, optimization, and validation.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting to resolve complex middleware, integration, and infrastructure challenges.
• Develop and maintain detailed implementation plans, technical procedures, runbooks, and operational guides.
• Identify risks and issues early, propose mitigation strategies, and communicate impacts to project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Privacy, and Infrastructure teams to ensure all upgrade activities meet enterprise standards and compliance requirements.

Senior Middleware Specialist - Mandatory Skills:
• 7–10+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in middleware engineering or related technical domains.
• Proven experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical application environments.
• Hands-on expertise in IBM DataPower, IBM App Connect Enterprise, Java Spring Boot microservices.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and CI/CD pipeline development for containerized middleware solutions.

Senior Middleware Specialist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience in public sector environments.
• Ability to work in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with OpenShift Container Platform.
• Experience with RHEL 7.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Senior Middleware Specialist – Assignment Length:
This is a 12-month contract position.

Senior Middleware Specialist - Start Date:
ASAP.

Senior Middleware Specialist - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office.
