Senior Privacy Specialist Healthcare:
On behalf of our Healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Senior Privacy Specialist for a 4 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

Senior Privacy Specialist Healthcare - Job Description:
The purpose of this procurement is to acquire a Senior Privacy Specialist to provide dedicated privacy subject matter expertise to assist with supporting privacy matters related to key Information Technology projects. These projects include the Provincial Health Services Directory, Electronic Health Record (EHR) initiatives, Provincial Viewers, and Patients before Paperwork initiatives. The Agency seeks to ensure compliance with legal and contractual privacy obligations and integrate privacy into the design of projects involving personal health information (PHI), thereby reducing organizational risk and protecting individual privacy.

Senior Privacy Specialist Healthcare - Responsibilities:
• Develop privacy policies and procedures
• Conduct privacy impact assessments for low to high complexity initiatives
• Support investigations of privacy incidents, patient inquiries, and privacy requests
• Identify and assess privacy risks
• Provide privacy advisory support to business teams
• Lead and/or participate in committees or project teams as the privacy Subject Matter Expert
• Respond and provide advice and legislative interpretation for information and access requests

Senior Privacy Specialist Healthcare - Mandatory Skills:
• Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience conducting privacy assessments and reviews on medium to high complexity projects
• Minimum 5 years of direct operational level privacy experience in a health sector and/or IT environment
• Minimum 5 years of experience in developing privacy policies and procedures, requirements, or controls
• Minimum 5 years of experience drafting and reviewing privacy requirements for data sharing agreements
• Experience with the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA), including requirements for Health Information Network Providers (HINP) and Electronic Service Providers (ESP)
• Familiarity with Application Programming Interface (API) functionality and management
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Hospital Information System (HIS) infrastructure, design, and data flows

Senior Privacy Specialist Healthcare – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Recognized security certification or designation
• Knowledge of technology architecture and infrastructure
• Experience with digital health solutions and services
• Understanding of enterprise and corporate IT including information and cybersecurity
• Experience working with prescribed statuses

Senior Privacy Specialist Healthcare – Assignment Length:
This is a 4 month contract position.
