On behalf of our Healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist - Direct Correspondence for a 13 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 1 day onsite at our client’s Toronto office. 

Senior Quality Assurance Specialist - Direct Correspondence - Job Description:
This role involves implementing digital communication channels for cancer screening correspondence in Ontario, aligning with the Digital First for Health Strategy. The specialist will focus on testing QA mitigation strategies for web-based applications and ensuring high-quality digital communication systems.

Senior Quality Assurance Specialist - Direct Correspondence - Responsibilities:
• Architect and scale modular, reusable JMeter test frameworks for complex workflows.
• Design advanced load, stress, endurance, and failover scenarios mimicking peak production traffic.
• Pinpoint complex system bottlenecks, memory leaks, and thread contentions across distributed architectures.
• Partner with senior developers and DevOps to recommend infrastructure scaling and code-level tuning.
• Embed non-functional testing gates into CI/CD pipelines for automated, continuous performance validation.
• Establish performance testing best practices and mentor junior or mid-level QA engineers.
• Plan and organize testing efforts for large systems in GUI and non-GUI environments.

Senior Quality Assurance Specialist - Direct Correspondence - Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 5 – 7 years of experience in the information technology field, particularly in web-based applications and QA automation/performance testing, with 3+ years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Expert-level proficiency with JMeter, including custom plugins, BeanShell/Groovy scripting, and distributed testing.
• Strong experience using APM platforms (Grafana, Dynatrace, New Relic, or similar) to diagnose root causes.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), microservices, caching layers (Redis/Memcached), and load balancers.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and the ability to analyze slow-running queries under load.
• Strong written and oral communication skills to communicate testing strategy and issues clearly.

Senior Quality Assurance Specialist - Direct Correspondence – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Executing the ETL Datastage jobs using UNIX shell scripts will be an asset.
• Technical proficiency in Siebel/CRM is an asset.
• Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux operations is a strong asset.
