Senior Software Developer 

Our client is seeking a Senior Software Developer (Backend) to design, develop, support, and enhance enterprise-scale applications and services.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience delivering large-scale, business-critical systems with a strong focus on backend development, data architecture, data modeling, database design, and end-to-end solution delivery.

The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for leading technical design activities, developing scalable and maintainable solutions, supporting existing applications, and delivering new capabilities using modern .NET technologies. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, vendors, and development teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

Key responsibilities include designing application architecture, developing and optimizing APIs and integrations, creating logical and physical data models, implementing database solutions, performing performance tuning, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting applications throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

The successful candidate will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams and contribute to modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Extensive experience developing enterprise applications using .NET and C#.
• Demonstrated expertise building large-scale, complex, and interdependent systems.
• Strong experience with N-tier and service-oriented application architectures.
• Proven experience in data architecture, data modeling, database design, and database-driven application development.
• Extensive experience with SQL Server and/or DB2, including database design, data modeling, query optimization, stored procedures, performance tuning, and database troubleshooting.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, web services, and system integrations.
• Strong understanding of system design, UML, enterprise architecture, and integration patterns.
• Full SDLC experience, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, support, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience working with third-party vendors and mentoring technical teams.

The successful candidate must be able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, demonstrate sound technical judgment, and take ownership of solutions from initial design through deployment and production support

Specific Responsibilities and Deliverables:

• Design, develop, enhance, support, and maintain enterprise-scale backend applications using .NET/C# technologies.
• Support and modernize existing .NET applications while developing new enterprise solutions.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performing application architectures.
• Lead the development of logical and physical data models to support complex business processes.
• Design and optimize database structures, schemas, stored procedures, queries, indexing strategies, and integration patterns.
• Develop and maintain APIs, web services, and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Support the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Perform performance tuning, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex application and database issues.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, vendors, and development teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance on development standards, architecture patterns, and best practices.
• Participate in system modernization, platform refresh initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.

  Mandatory Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise software solutions.
• Extensive experience developing enterprise applications using .NET and C#.
• Extensive experience building large-scale, complex, and interdependent systems.
• Strong experience with backend application development and enterprise system integration.
• Demonstrated expertise in data architecture, data modeling, database design, and database-driven application development.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, indexing, security, governance, and performance optimization.
• Extensive experience developing solutions using SQL Server and/or DB2.
• Strong SQL development skills, including stored procedures, query optimization, database performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, web services, and system integrations.
• Extensive experience with N-tier and service-oriented application architecture
• Experience using UML and architectural design methodologies.
• Full SDLC experience, including testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Excellent ability to synthesize complex information and apply sound technical and business knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges.
• Experience working with third-party vendors and external partners.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and supporting technical staff and development teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
• Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic delivery environment.
• Experience with automated testing, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and quality assurance practices would be an asset.
