Sr. Software Developer - Transit Platform Modernization
On behalf of our Transit client, Procom is searching for a Sr. Software Developer - Transit Platform Modernization for a 6-month contract position. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

Sr. Software Developer - Transit Platform Modernization - Job Description
In this role, you will be involved in the modernization of the Transit Operations product portfolio, focusing on solutions for tracking trains and buses and managing customer information. You will contribute to the development and enhancement of a common applications platform for real-time scheduling, fare, and customer communications.

Sr. Software Developer - Transit Platform Modernization - Responsibilities
• Produce and deliver design of a common applications platform for the ecosystem
• Participate in the development of Solution Architecture practice
• Develop, enhance, and maintain solution architectures
• Deliver communication/presentation at different organizational levels
• Ensure proper architecture and integration with other systems

Sr. Software Developer - Transit Platform Modernization - Mandatory Skills
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio using C#, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.Net Forms
• Strong ability to write SQL code, and experience with SQL/LINQ/Entity Framework
• Experience with Cloud IaaS and PaaS (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
• Experience with DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jira, and Jenkins
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with containerization such as Kubernetes and Docker
• Familiarity with Agile Software Development process

Sr. Software Developer - Transit Platform Modernization – Nice-to-Have Skills
• Basic understanding of SignalR, RabbitMQ, REDIS, MongoDB
• Node.Js experience
• Experience with Cloud solution stacks such as OpenStack
• Basic understanding of CQRS/EventStore/Microservices concepts
• Knowledge and experience of source control systems (in particular JIRA)
