Senior Specialist, Software Development and Engineering:
On behalf of our Financial client, Procom is searching for a Senior Specialist, Software Development and Engineering for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Austin office.

Job Description:
The Enhanced Client Verification Team is seeking a Senior Specialist in Software Development and Engineering to work within a dynamic Agile Scrum Team. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and high-performance Java-based web services that support business-critical integration projects.

Responsibilities:
• Implementation of new features ensuring they align with best practices, Schwab standards, and project goals.
• Writing well-designed, clean, maintainable, testable, efficient code using the Springboot framework.
• Optimizing existing systems for performance, scalability, resiliency, and security.
• Collaborating with various cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Analyzing and investigating problems with software solutions and documenting the results of their investigations.
• Performing maintenance of software and correcting defects identified during the maintenance process.
• Mentoring junior developers by sharing knowledge and providing technical guidance.
• Conducting code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure quality deliverables.
• Staying up to date with emerging technologies and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Mandatory Skills:
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field with 4+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Java and related frameworks
• Extensive knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and front-end/back-end integration (4+ years)
• Knowledge in modern software development practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and test automation (4+ years)
• Experience with writing Splunk queries and developing monitoring Dashboards within Splunk (3+ years)
• Experience with TDD practices and writing integration tests in Cucumber (4+ years)
• Experience working with Mongo and SQL Databases (2+ years)
• Experience developing Avro Kafka schemas for event streaming platforms (2+ years)

Assignment Length:
