Senior SysOps Engineer
On behalf of our public sector client, Procom is searching for a Senior SysOps Engineer for a full-time role. This position is a hybrid position with 1 day onsite at our client’s Vancouver, British Columbia office.

Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, IT Operations, the Senior SysOps Engineer is responsible for the operational management, maintenance, and optimization of CLBC's AWS cloud infrastructure. The role ensures system availability, performance, security, and cost-efficiency, while also supporting Salesforce system administration and NetScaler environments.

Responsibilities:
• Deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.
• Configure and manage various AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
• Monitor system health and performance using AWS CloudWatch and other tools.
• Implement and manage security measures, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Perform routine operational tasks including patching, performance, and cost optimization.
• Automate operational tasks using scripting languages and Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Design and manage AWS networking components like VPCs, subnets, and VPN connections.
• Support Salesforce administration and ensure smooth delivery of application functions.
• Lead the design and optimization of cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Design and manage robust backup and disaster recovery strategies.

Mandatory Skills:
• 12+ years of experience in system administration on various platforms.
• 3+ years as an AWS SysOps Administrator.
• Certifications in AWS, Azure, Microsoft, Linux, or Salesforce.
• Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Strong understanding of AWS services and infrastructure.
• Experience in implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Familiarity with Salesforce administration.
• Experience with ITIL, Waterfall, and Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines.
• Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools for system performance.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.
