On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a Senior Systems Administrator - VMWare for a 6 month contract role. This position is remote with occasional visits to our client’s Toronto office.

Senior Systems Administrator - VMWare - Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator with significant experience supporting VMware, Azure, hybrid cloud, and on-premises data center infrastructure in an enterprise environment. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable global infrastructure services, troubleshooting complex issues, coordinating with internal teams and vendors, and supporting operations across multiple regions and time zones.

Senior Systems Administrator - VMWare - Responsibilities:
• Administer, support, troubleshoot, and optimize VMware vSphere, Azure, hybrid cloud, and on-premises infrastructure.
• Manage enterprise storage arrays, volume replication, and storage presentation to VMware environments.
• Support disaster recovery and backup services, including Zerto and Azure Backup.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Linux-based systems within VMware, Azure, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Diagnose complex infrastructure issues and coordinate troubleshooting efforts.
• Support infrastructure services across multiple regions and time zones.
• Provide escalation support for SCCM, Intune, and Autopilot issues.
• Create and maintain operational documentation and knowledge transfer materials.

Senior Systems Administrator - VMWare - Mandatory Skills:
• Senior-level administration of VMware vSphere in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on support and optimization of VMware and Azure infrastructure.
• Storage integration with VMware environments.
• Support for disaster recovery and backup platforms such as Zerto and Azure Backup.
• Working knowledge of Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• SCCM, Intune, and Windows Autopilot escalation support.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across VMware, Azure, storage, and backup systems.

Senior Systems Administrator - VMWare – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Familiarity with disaster recovery, backup, and recoverability concepts.
• Deep technical knowledge of VMware vSphere components.
• Working knowledge of Azure infrastructure services.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and changing priorities.
• Strong communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration.

This is a 6 month contract position.
