Job Description

Senior Test Engineer
On behalf of our public sector client, Procom is searching for a Senior Test Engineer for a one-year contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Vancouver, British Columbia office.

Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of IM/IT initiatives with a government body, contributing to long-term projects that benefit the community in Vancouver. The role involves ensuring the quality and reliability of business applications within an Agile development team.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with solution architects, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop effective test strategies.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, smoke, sanity, and user acceptance testing.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools.
• Validate application functionality, APIs, databases, and integrations to ensure business and technical requirements are met.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to testing processes, automation frameworks, and overall software quality practices.

Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional work experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in software quality assurance and software testing.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience testing Microsoft .NET applications.
• Experience testing applications deployed in AWS.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with My Workspace or Telerik based applications.
• Experience testing integrations with DocuSign and Salesforce.
• Experience with AWS applications like Cloudwatch, SQS, S3.
• Knowledge of performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• ISTQB Foundation or higher certification.

Assignment Length:
This is a one-year contract with the possibility of three one-year extensions.

ASAP.

Assignment Location:
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This position is hybrid with 2 days in the office.
