Job Description

Senior UX Designer:
On behalf of our public sector client, Procom is searching for a Senior UX Designer for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Senior UX Designer - Job Description:
The Senior UX Designer will work on a critical project involving the development and enhancement of design systems and ensuring accessibility compliance. The role focuses on public-facing digital services, requiring extensive experience in UX design and a strong understanding of accessibility standards.

Senior UX Designer - Responsibilities:
• Plan and conduct discovery, user research, stakeholder interviews, usability testing, and evidence synthesis.
• Translate findings into prioritized design recommendations.
• Create user journeys, task flows, service blueprints, information architecture, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity responsive designs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including researchers, content specialists, accessibility specialists, developers, product and project leads, business stakeholders, and senior decision-makers.
• Facilitate in-person and remote workshops, design critiques, playback sessions, and decision-making activities.
• Prepare implementation-ready specifications and support developer handoff.

Senior UX Designer - Mandatory Skills:
• A minimum of seven years of professional experience in user experience, user interface, interaction, product, or service design.
• Advanced proficiency with Figma, including components, variants, libraries, prototyping, file organization, documentation, and developer handoff.
• Experience designing and documenting accessible digital experiences in accordance with AODA and WCAG standards.
• Experience contributing to, extending, and applying design systems.
• Experience designing complex public-facing or enterprise digital services.
• Strong written, verbal, facilitation, analytical, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.

Senior UX Designer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Public sector experience.
• Experience with navigation, search, forms, validation, error handling, and other interaction states.
• Experience building consensus and presenting recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in design-quality reviews and resolving design issues.

Senior UX Designer – Assignment Length:
This is a 6-month contract position with the potential for an extension based on performance and project needs.

ASAP

Senior UX Designer - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of three days per week in the office.
